  • Yupi, thank you!
  • Hi class, today we will learn about some biology definitions.
  • Genetic Drift is: Genetic drift — along with natural selection, mutation, and migration — is one of the basic mechanisms of evolution. It is a change in the frequency of an existing gene variant in a population due to a chance event and a random selection of certain genes. So although genetic drift is a mechanism of evolution, it doesn't work to produce adaptations.
  • Gene flow is: Is also defined as migration, is any movement of individuals, and/or the genetic material they carry, from one population to another. Includes a variety of events, like pollen being blown into a new destination.
  • Micro-evolution is: Microevolution is a change in gene frequency within a population. Evolution at this scale can be observed over short periods of time, for example, between one generation and the next.
  • Co-Evolution is: Coevolution is the process by which two or more species evolve at the same time by exerting selection pressures on each other. Examples of coevolutionary systems include hosts and parasites, predators and prey.
  • Remember, next week we will have a exam!
  • Macroevolution encompasses the grandest trends and transformations in evolution, such as the origin of mammals. Macroevolutionary patterns are generally what we see when we look at the large-scale history of life.
  • Ohhmy God!
  • 1 week later
  • Ok teacher!
  • You will have 30 minutes to finish the exam. Tomorrow I would show your grades!
  • The Next Day
