  • Should language be all the same?
  • I consider that language should not be the same because different language can make everything more exciting, interesting and challenging. Moreover, different languages also allows us to expand our knowledge, and to hear from different ideas and perspectives. Additionally, language is essential because it gives to everyone an identity and is quite important for culture.
  • In Coahuila, Mexico (the place where i used to live) is really rare to find someone that speaks a different language, and that is why when Randy and steve (two of my dad's friends) came to visit my house and me and my brothers heard them talk in english, just like the experience that Trevor had, we were fascinated and we were excited to hear them talk more and more.
  • Firstly, having different languages makes it more interesting/exciting for everyone.
  • *English*
  • Trevor Noah writes, " The black kids were fascinated. In south Africa then, it wasn't common to find a white person who spoke Africa n languages"

  • When I first realized that I could learn a different language, all I wanted was to learn it because it was so interesting for me. In addition to this, there were a lot of times when I wasn't able to read books because it was written in a different language, and that encouraged me to learn more about it. Also, learning a different language helped me to know about different ideas and perspectives and I can relate this to the way how Trevor's mom used language to her advantage in so many ways, and at the same time, she expanded her knowledge.
  • Secondly different languages can expand knowledge in so many ways.
  • Trevor states, "She learned zulu because is similar to xhosa. She spoke German because of my father. She spoke afrikaans because its useful to know the language of your oppressor" .
  • It was until I came to the U.S that I realized how important language because it gives you an identity language allowed me to learn how important language is for a culture ans also allowed me to learn a different culture that I didn't knew. To contrast, I could relate this ,exactly the same way as Trevor Noah describes how language can give you an identity.
  • Last but not least, Language is essential for everyone's culture..
  • spanish
  • Trevor writes, "Language brings with it an identity and a culture, or at least the perception of it"
