- Today we are going to be learning about something called plastic pollution
- Who wants to start us off with a fact?
- The world now produces more than 380 million tonnes of plastic every year, which could end up as pollutants, entering our natural environment and oceans.
- Nearly 700 species get caught in plastic or eat plastic
- Ok Kids! Now we are going to watch a video. Look up at the board!
- Ughh.. I'm so sick from eating all these microplastics
- Omg! There is so much plastic pollution!
- This is the story of two bottles. One gets recycled, and one gets thrown into the ocean, and one gets brought to a land fill.
- First, I get thrown into the recycle
- this human made the right decision. She recycled me and then I get brought to a place that compresses me and other bottle into a huge block. Then I get shredded and melted down into stuff that can get reused to make another bottle!
