  • This scene represents the landscape of a countryside rural environment. A person living in this region will most likely partake in subsistence agriculture. An example of this would be The Valley which is an agricultural area in California.

  • This scene represents the scenery of a suburban neighborhood. Suburbs are residential areas on the outskirts of cities. Families typically live in these regions as public schools and parks. An example of this would be the majority of the neighborhoods in Modesto.

  • This scene represents a Gated Community. These communities are residential areas that are safely isolated with barriers. There is a high cost of living in these areas and families typically have high incomes to afford the very safe housing. An example of this would be Del Rio in California.

  • This scene represents the environment of a Central Business District because it is a central commercial and business region of a city. CBDs are highly urban areas within a city with daily commerce. An example of this would be The New York Times Square.

  • This scene represents suburban sprawl. Sprawl is the expansion of urban or suburban area into unused land (which is generally rural). Sprawl reduces the amount of available land for farming, and greenbelts are often put into place to avoid sprawl in certain areas. Several large towns like Los Angeles, Miami, and Austin still have urban and suburban sprawl today.
  • Gentrification occurs when the wealthy renovate lower-class urban or suburban areas. This process generally raises the prices of these areas and forces the poor citizens out. Previously poor areas like Atlanta and Boston experienced gentrification which improved the cities significantly.
