July 14th, 1789 - A crowd of people from the third estate broke into the Bastille and stole gunpowder and cannons. These people were from the third estate who wanted more rights from the King.
End of Guillotining
June 1791 - King Louis XVI and his family attempted to escape from France to seek help from Austria. They failed, lost all their respect as monarchs and were arrested.
A New Constitution Adopted
January 21st, 1793 - King Louis XVI was executed at Place de la Revolution after being found guilty of treason.
Napoleon Takes Control
July 28th, 1794 - The executions of people by the guillotine were finally ended when the creator of the guillotine, Robespierre, was beheaded.
July 28th, 1795 - A new constitution was adopted in France. This constitution agreed upon equality for everyone. It guaranteed a stable social order.
1799 - Napoleon comes into power. This marked the end of the French Revolution and began the French Republic.
