Storyboard Text

  • Hey Ashley! I'd like to talk to for while we go to house
  • About a book that I read about the life story of a scientist that studied sea animals!
  • sure! about what?
  • cool! fill me in!
  • It tells the story of Ernest Everett Just, he was the first scientist that discovered the importance of the cell surface to generate new life.
  • But how did he discover that?
  • By observing sea animals like sand dollar and starfish. Different from the other scientists, he transported them carefully.
  • And the animals that he transported were alive?
  • Yes! He believed that the animals needed to be in a place that was more natural so they would be alive to observe them better.
  • Oh! that is so cool!
  • Yea! but his life was not easy. His father died when he was four and he, his mother and brothers suffered the most from segregation. That was his purpose for moving from the US when he got older, segregation made him very uncomfortable.
  • Oh,this is so sad.
  • Yes, but he didn't give up, he always tried to get his space, and he did it!
  • Yes! Thanks for sharing this beautiful story.
  • You're welcome!
