- His friends felt bad as they were the ones who wanted Uenuku to prove himself to them which ended in Hinepūkohurangi leaving so they decided to help him find her. They had heard people talking and speculating about where the land of gods was and decided they would venture out to Aeoteroa and hopefully find Hinepūkohurangi. Their journey took many days and they had to sail through all the conditions of the sea.
- When they eventually arrived they were taken aback by the extreme beauty of the land. The land was lush and filled with incredible plants and animals they had never seen before like the smallest dinosaur and the biggest bird. They spent some time exploring this new land before growing tired. Uenukus friends found a plot of plentiful land perfect for growing kumara and decided he wanted to stay and live there.
- Uenuku farewelled his friend, finding a place to rest. He decided to climb a mountain, hoping to become closer to Hinepūkohurangi’ in the hopes of being reunited. Hinepūkohurangi’ was watching him and asked the gods if she could be reunited with him. They granted her wish a and they embraced, eventually growing with the land to become the might tapuae - o - uenuku.
