- Good morning, Julia! I'm so excited for our topic today!
- Hey, Callie. Oh, is proper waste disposal supposed to be exciting? It freaks me out.
- Good morning class! Today we're going to talk about proper waste disposal. Are you all ready?
- Yes, Miss!
- First off, why do we need to study this? The environment benefits from proper trash disposal. Without it, the land and the resources beneath it are vulnerable to contamination.
- Waste disposal starts with good waste management on the part of the researcher, which includes minimizing trash generation, repurposing surplus materials, and recycling of suitable (i.e., uncontaminated) waste. The waste created must be appropriately collected and stored, with special emphasis paid to labeling, segregation by chemical compatibility, and storage in a well-ventilated area. This site needs to be clearly labeled. Sharps and glass, among other laboratory waste products, must be properly identified and disposed of in matching containers.
- It was fun! We learned about proper waste disposal. Now that I think of it, I was thinking to have a meeting with the residents here. and talk about issues in our community.
