- Okay James, today we are going to talk about what happens if there is a fracture in the mandible.
- You got it teacher! So excited!
- Did you know that if there is a crack/fracture in the mandible, it causes your mouth and jaw to not function well.
- Yes, I kind of knew that. Also, it happens when you put to much force in the mandible, and it causes the bone to be stressed.
- Exactly! An example can be someone getting punched in the mandible causing it to break. Or a car crash.
- Yes. To finish the discussion, a broken mandible weakens the muscle and cannot function well. Also, you cannot talk, open your mouth, chew and suck food/drinks
