  • Pope/Church
  • Monarch
  • Feudalism is a social system during medieval Europe in which people worked and fought nobles who gave them land and protection.
  • Nobles
  • The Pope also know as a bishop was the main church leader and worked in an area called the diocese. The Catholic church was one of the most powerful places back then and that made the Pope of the Church very powerful.
  • Knights
  • Yes, sir! I've been waiting for this my whole life
  • Hey! Time for battle. Lets go!
  • The Monarch was the biggest leader, but couldn't own all the land himself; so he spread it between all of the Barons. Because the Monarch gave them land the Barons pledged that they would give him their loyalty and lend him their soldiers for fighting. If the Monarch ever died the crown would be in inherited by the first born son.
  • Peasants
  • Nobles owned fiefs, also known as very large amounts of land. One of the jobs for the Nobles was to report everything straight to the King. The Nobles were also still very powerful. They separated their land among lords who ran individual manors. Another one of their jobs was to train a good army that was loyal to the king. If they didn't make a good army then sometimes they would pay a tax to the king instead, called shield money.
  • Knights are Lords and they ran local manors. They at any point could be called into battle by their Baron. They owned everything on their land including: Peasants, crops, and the villages.
  • Peasants were most of the population and had a rough life. Some peasants were free and could own anything they wanted to, while others were considered slaves. They didn't get to own anything and had to have their full loyalty to their owner. They worked non-stop, 6 days a week, and barely got any food to survive.
  • "Growl," Oh my gosh my stomach. Why can't I just get my food already
