- birth of Izanami and Izanagi
- Izanagi and Izanami created a family and had an unfortunate leech child, it was born without limbs or bones. They abandoned the child
- They returned to heaven to ask the elder kami what they did wrong. Kami informed them that Izanami had gone wrong with greeting her husband first and that it was unnatural, so they restarted
- She then gave birth successfully to the islands of awaji, Shikoku, Oki kyushu, and Tsushima, She then lastly gave birth to the largest island, Honshu
- after giving birth to the land and islands, she then gave birth to the kami that would give the land its shape. While giving birth to the kami of fire, she was burned to death and she died
- Izanagi grieved for izanami for a very long time and then he decided to go on a journey to the house of Yomi, the land of the dead, determined to bring her back
- When arriving he begged izanami to return to the world with him but she informed him that it was not possible since she had taken food while at the house of yomi
- He was able to convince her and she went to ask the resident kami if she could go back with him. After a whole day passed, she did not return and he entered the mansion and came across her dead body once again.
