  • Hi my name is Toussaint Breda later known as Toussaint L'Ouverture and this is story how I became the man that proclaimed the independence of Haiti.
  • At this time the Jacobins had considered equality in the French colonies including Haiti. So that had made the slaves and Toussaint happy.

  • The people of Haiti where upset Jean Rousseau and other Enlightened thinkers applied "Right to Man" and these rights gave the people rights like natural rights but they did end Slavery. The plantation owners in Haiti where infereated with this so they and the slaves of Haiti had fought the French. The army of slaves was lead by the one and only Toussaint Breda
  • After a while, from Napoleons and Toussaint agreement Napoleon invited to a negotiating meeting but really it was a betrayal and he had Toussaint captured sent on a boat and brought to a prison in the mountain of France where he died. But others continued his rain of fighting for freedom.
  • In the end of the battle the rebellion of Slave won the battle and the revolutionaries dropped the measure in 1791. That is when Toussaint gained his name as Toussaint L'Ouverture.
