- The History of New Zealand: December 24, 1601

- Abel Tasman arrives: December 13, 1642

- Captain Cook arrives: May 31, 1769
- The Maori find New Zealand and start exploring the land to conquer it and talking and thinking of what to call it. They find resources and build houses and have fruit.
- Europeans saw Tauranga: May 31, 1820
- Abel Tasman was the first European to discover New Zealand, He was on an expedition to discover a great Southern continent "Great South Land". He thought that if he found these islands he could sell them to become rich and have rich materials on the island.
- The Treaty of Waitangi: February 6, 1840
- Captain Cook also arrives and he sighted New Zealand on May 31, 1769. He drew accurate maps of the country and also wrote about the Maori people for the first time. His first encounter with the Maori people broke out in a fight which some Maori people were killed.
- Wars: March 11- January 11, 1846
- The European sighting have seen Tauranga for the first time and people start living there and building their home and peace have started there to have a safe place there.
- Wow, what beautiful land and food!
- The treaty of Waitangi has started because of the war that has happened in New Zealand, that people die and Europeans wanting this land, so they made a treaty of agreements. It also took place in the Bay of Islands.

- The Maori land wars began when the Colonial government sold Maori land, ignoring the Treaty of Waitangi because they wanted to build houses on the claimed land. To have it for people in New Zealand.
