Hi my name is Joey the Giraffe. I'm here today to explain Darwin's theory of Evolution by explaining how giraffes have a better chance at survival with a long neck.
Adaptation: Giraffes have adapted over time to have long necks because we need to be able to reach the leaves on the trees to eat. Without long necks we wouldn't be able to reach the food to eat and wouldn't be able to survive.
Variation: We show variation by the size of our necks and the different patterns of all spot on out body.
Reproduction: Over time the giraffes with longer necks population has grown because of reproduction and evolution. Their are very little to no giraffes with short necks because they aren't fit for our environment
Overpopulation: When we reproduce to much it's harder to find food because more of us are eating it, trying to survive.
Natural Selection: The giraffes that have a better chance at living longer are the ones that have longer necks. This was my offspring, he couldn't survive because he had a short neck and couldn't reach our food on the trees.
