Storyboard Text

  • In this scene Beatty comes to Montag's house and tell him that he was told on by his wife for reading the poem. Before this scene Mildred left Montag's house without saying a word which gave him suspicions, but Beatty's words just confirmed it.
  • She called and told me about the poems
  • Burn the house!
  • No you!
  • In this scene Beatty tells Montag to burn his house down because of the books. Faber tell Montag to run but Montag stays and eventually sets the flamethrower on Beatty and the hound.
  • Faber: RUN!
  • Before this the police released a new hound to find the scent of Montag. Montag comes to a street where he can see Faber's house and the both stair at each other, and Faber pulls him into his house when Montag is close. They plan to burn Faber's items, and try to get rid of Montag's scent. This works because when the hound gets to Faber's house it goes off trail
  • Faber: GET IN
  • It's so quiet
  • In this scene Montag had just gone down the river running from the hound and stopped to sleep in a barn. Away from the city life. He slept well and would look at this girl braiding her hair, who reminded him of someone in his past.
  • Montag: Wow! Fire can be used for good
  • This scene helps Montag to see that fire is not just used for destruction, however it is also used to help people get warm
  • This scene is the first time Montag is noticed since he commited the crimes, and yet Granger did not care. It also shows that the government will arrest wrong people to appeal to the people, when Granger and Montag watched the TV
  • All right you can come out now.
  • The significance of this scene shows that even though Montag has been having a hard time knowing if he truly cares for Mildred, he learns he does. He even is able to recall that they first met in Chicago.
