- Officer wilkionson gave Mayas information back to her and instead of writing her a ticket he continues to interrogate her he asks her if there are drugs in the car and doesn't even bother to acknowledge any of Mayas friends who are of course white
- No, all we were doing was listening to music and heading over to a party at our class presidents house (Maya says this)

- Knowing that none of her friends would know what to do and that they certainly couldn't handle this situation, the last thing she told her friends before she got dragged away by that cop car was " call my mom"

- I don't even know what I did, I was being extremely corroborative and following directions. What am I even being arrested for theirs no warrant for my arrest and there were no drugs in the car? Why am I the only one being arrested? Why aren't my friends getting arrested? Why did he only ask me to exit the car? He didn't even acknowledge my friends. This has to be racially motivated OMG WHAT DO I DO (mayas inner thoughts)
- At this point Mayas panicking shes never been in a position like this before. Thoughts are flooding her mind. She didn't even do anything and was being extremely corroborative Mayas heard the stories about police brutality and can tell by Officer Wilkins complete lack of acknowledgement toward her white friends that his actions were racially motivated.
