- Nick is on the train to the Buchannan's house, It is extremely hot which might reflect the anticipation of the characters.
- Nick arives at the buchannans house and meets the Buchanans as well as gatsby, Jordan, and daisies new child.
- On the way into town, Tom, Nick, and Jordan stop at George's garage for gas, and find out that he knows about tom and myrtle.
- Gatsby and Tom get into a heated fight, the sun is still out making it unbearably hot and effectively reflecting the anger of the characters. it ended with Tom telling Gatsby and Daisy to go home.
- Nick, Tom, And Jordan return to George's garage to find myrtle had been killed by Gatsbys car, the group is shaken.
- Nick and Gatsby watch the Buchannan's house from behind bushes to make sure that Tom doesn't hurt Daisy.
