  • Where are we going first?
  • First stop is Glycolysis
  • This is Glycolysis... it happens in the cytoplasm. Glucose breaks down into pyruvic acid
  • 2 ATPS are produced and 4 hydrogens!
  • And oxygen is NOT present in this so its called anaerobic respiration
  • Where's our second stop?
  • In the mitochondria
  • Our second stop is the Krebs cycle. This happens in the mitochondria. Oxygen is going in and carbon dioxide is coming out.
  • In this stage two ATPs are produced and 16 hydrogens. Electrons are carried in NADH and FADH2 to the next stop...
  • Now onto our final stop!!
  • This is the third and final stop. Its called the Electron transport chain.
  • Oxygen is going into and water is coming out. It produces 32 ATPs!!!
