Storyboard Text

  • Beginning
  • " I will never be able to fly again" - Magpie
  • "I am blind in one eye, but life is still good." - Dog
  • Middle
  • "I will never leave dog, I am his eyes and he is my wings."- Magpie
  • "I can run faster than Dog. I can run faster than the wind. Leave Dog and come with me." - Fox
  • End
  • "It would be so easy to just die here on the spot." But I must find Dog."- Magpie
  • In the beginning of the story, Dog takes Magpie the bird to his cave. Magpie is hurt, and has a burned wing, she can no longer fly. She whispers to Dog "I will never be able to fly again." Both Dog and Magpie have injuries. Dog is blind in one eye. Dog persuades Magpie to jump on his back so she may feel the wind against her body. Almost as if she's flying.
  • In the middle of the story, the character Fox is introduced. Magpie does not trust Fox, but Dog sees no problem with him. One night while Dog is asleep, Fox tries to convince Magpie to leave Dog by saying "I can run faster than Dog, Faster than the wind." But Magpie refuses to leave Dog alone, declining any of Fox's advances to get her away from Dog. 
  • In the end of the story, Magpie decides to trust Fox, and climbs on his back while they run through the desert. Magpie delighted and excited exclaims "At last! I'm flying, I'm really flying!" However, Fox throws her off his back and reveals his true intentions. He tells her "Now you and Dog will know what its like to be truly alone." As he runs off leaving her stranded in the desert. Magpie has no choice but to walk a long way to get back and find Dog.
