- I need you to bring me the fruit from the top of Sky Tree
- In the beginning, Earth was covered in water. Above the earth was Sky Land, and on Sky Land was Sky Tree. Sky Tree supplied the food for all of Sky Land.
- go grab soil and put it on my back to break her fall!
- The old chief of this land became extremely sick. One night a dream came to him so he told his wife that he dreamt that the cure of his illness was the fruit on the very top of the Sky tree. He told her he needed her to cut it down and bring him the fruit.
- His wife, Aataentsic, listened to him and took his ax and attempted to cut Sky Tree down. When she hit the tree with the ax, the tree split in half and fell. As it fell it opened up a hole in Sky Land and fell through the whole. Aataentsic knew that without Sky Tree there is no life, so she jumped through the hole after Sky Tree.
- below the hole, Turtle saw Aataentsic falling through the air towards the water. To help her Turtle came up with a plan and told Beaver, Mink, Muskrat, and Otter to dive to the bottom, grab soil, and place it on Turtles back. Doing this they created an island for her to land on.
- When Aataentsic and the Sky Tree landed they were fine. Aataentsic settled into the new land and Sky Tree took root in the new ground.
- This story's theme is about how the earth came to be. This folktale claims that the earth came to be by a wife trying to heal her husbands sickness from fruit from her land when her and the tree started falling to the water beneath them a turtle put soil on his back to save her.
