- Hello, I'm Laurent Clerc.
- Hi, I'm Thomas Hopkins Gallaudet.
- Laurent Clerc, he became deaf from an accident as a child. Before the school he was a deaf educator in Paris.

- Laurent Clerc went to England to better him self in American Sign Language and teach others.

- Clerc was in England to give a lecture when he met Thomas Hopkins Gallaudet. Gallaudet was invited to attend classes at the same school Clerc taught.
- The big establishment
- Gallaudet asked Clerc to come back to America with him. And Clerc agreed, so they can back and learned and grew together.
- Hmmmmm, Let me think about it.
- Gallaudet and Clerc took a boat voyage on June 18, 1816, for 52 days. During the time Gallaudet taught Clerc written English and Clerc taught Gallaudet French Sign Language.
