- Gatsby meets Dan Cody and warns him about the dangerous weather, prompting Cody to ask about him. This starts the friendship between them.
- Thanks for the info, what's your name?
- There will be some terrible weather later!
- James Gatsby, sir.
- Dan Cody trusts Gatsby enough to deal with him when he is drunk, he gives this important task to him.
- Whenever I get drunk, I want you to lock me up, Gatsby.
- Yes sir.
- Women run around too much these days.
- Tom, Daisy, and Nick arrive to Gatsby's mansion for a party.
- I can't wait, these events excite me so!
- Welcome!
- Another party.
- Nick has an opposite experience to his last visit to a party at Gatsby's, Daisy is upset considerably by her husband speaking badly about Gatsby and the atmosphere. Tom is uninterested in the party.
- This isn't as fun as I thought it would be.
- This is so terrible.
- After their time at the party, Tom and Daisy leave, and Gatsby seeks out Nick to speak with him.
- Gatsby is extremely upset and speaks to Nick about wanting Daisy to leave Tom. Gatsby wishes for things to be like they were before he left to the military, and Nick tells him how he can not make things the same way as they were before.
