- Teacher: Class we are sending you home early because there is a tropical storm happening later todayJim the student: What's a tropical storm?Teacher: A tropical storm is a circular storm that forms over warm oceans. When a tropical cyclone hits land, it brings heavy rains and strong winds. The winds can destroy our homes and buildings. It can even rip out trees by their roots. This is why you need to go home and prepare.

- Mom: Glad your home so we can stay safe from the storm together. Stay on the first floor and keep away from doors and windows.Jim: Okay, how was this tropical storm caused?Mom: The tropical storm is caused by the warm air rising over the ocean, which makes an area of lower air pressure below. Then once the wind reaches a speed of 39 miles per hour a cyclone forms. This can become very dangerous once it reaches land which is why we have to stay inside.
