- King Louis XIV's lavish spending, debt rising, and poor harvesting, leaves France in trouble.
- Hm, what should I buy with this tax money now?

- The King and Queen were found guilty of treason. The two were executed by the guillotine. now, France could become a Republic.

- Starting in the September of 1793, the Reign of Terror purged/eradicated enemies of the French Revolution and protect the country from invading foreigners, and ended one year later due to the fall of Maximilien Robespierre. About fourty-thousand people were sent to the guillotine in this time period.

- Napolean Bonaparte, a successful general, lead a coup (takeover of French government) in 1799. He improved politics, made peace with the catholic church, and edited the Civil Code. Because he thought he was so great, he declared himself emperor of France.

- The Napoleon Wars resulted in the capturing of Egypt, Belgium, Spain, Portugal Holland, and a portion of Germany. This had a major effect on the French Revolution.

- The Battle of Waterloo is where Napoleon is defeated, ending the Napoleon Wars and ending his title as the Emperor of France. Napoleon was exiled to Elba.He escaped Elba by sailing back to France. The Napoleon Wars resulted in needed societal changes, which would end the French Revolution.
