- Hi how are you today ?
- Today i will explain some things about particle theory hope you like it
- Until i explain you the changes of state i want to explain you what is the particle theory. It consists of many, very small particles which are constantly moving or sometimes in a continual state of motion. The form in which particles move is determined by the amount of energy they have and their relationship to other particles. Remember that the phases of the particle theory are Solid, Liquid and Gas.
- Firs of all i will explain you how Solid passes to Liquid. So Solid passes to Liquid thanks for a process call Melting, When we heat a solid the particles win energy and start to vibrate faster so the solid is melting to form a liquid.When we turn a solid into a liquid the kinetic energy will increase.
- Know i will explain how Liquid passes to Gas. So liquid passes to gas thanks for a process call evaporation/Boiling. This happen because particles of liquid gain enough energy to completely overcome the force of attraction between them and change to a gaseous state. When we turn a liquid into a gas the kinetic energy increase.
- Finally you need to know what happens to particles when heated. When the heat is added to a substance, the molecules and atoms will vibrate faster, thanks that atoms vibrate faster, the space between atoms increases. A important point is that the spacing of the particles determines the state of matter of a substance.
