- Okay, mom. I'm sorry.
- Young lady, don't make your brother cry. Stop fighting and be nice to him or else, I'll punish you.
- I should be nice to my brother from now on. So that mom will not scold me and punish me. I shouldn't be mean to him.

- In this illustration, the mother scolded her daughter because of what she did to her little brother. The mother shapes the moral code of her child and the consequence if she continue making her little brother cry. At a young age, a child must know what is the right thing to do.
- The child knows that if she didn't treat her little brother right, she'll be punish by her mother. She should think what her mother see her as a good child if she stop doing it. We see a child developing her morality and she realizes her mistake.
- This is where the child shows the morality she learned from her mother. Disciplining the children is a method to reduce undesired behavior by giving a negative consequence. Children tends to follow the rules to avoid the punishment.
