- Big, Big Sister By: Jacqueline Helms
- One day, my mom and dad told my little brother Jacob and I to come into the living room because they had to have a conversation with us. At first I was nervous because I didn't know what to expect. Once we all sat down my mom told us she was going to have a baby. I was so excited. Since I already was a big sister this meant I am going to be a big, big sister.
- I am having a baby!!!
- Yay!
- Now I'm going to be a big brother!
- That night I was so excited I couldn't sleep. I had so many thoughts running threw my head. Was it going to be a boy? Was it going to be a girl? I knew I couldn't wait to hold it. I also knew we had a lot of things we had to do to get ready for this new baby.
- Now that we knew there was a baby coming we had to get ready for it. Me and mom did a lot of shopping throughout the months so we would be prepared for when it came. Even though we had 9 months we all knew it would fly by fast.
- How cute. I love it!
- Hey mom, what about this cute pajama shirt for the baby?
- Yes thank you!
- After months of shopping for the baby it was time to set up the nursery. This was such a fun family experience because we all worked together to get the job done. We also helped because my mom was supposed to be resting until the baby came. My job was fixing the mobile above the bed, my brother and dads job was putting the crib together and mom was incharge of telling us where to put things.
- Is this where you want the crib?
- The day the baby came I was the happiest person alive. I could not wait to hold the baby. When me and Jacob got to the hospital my dad walked us in the room. Thats when we saw my mom and not one but two babies. Surprise! They were twins!This was perfect. A boy and a girl. One for me to hold and one for Jacob to hold. Now I am officially a big, big sister.
