  • Let's talk about African struggles for independence after WWII while I go home!
  • After WWII Africa, countries such as Kenya faced problems such as: ignorance, rebellion, poverty, and disease.
  • Kenya was trying to gain independence from Britain. The British were convinced to reform Kenya, and there began the start of becoming independent. Kenya ended up gaining independence on December 12, 1963. The Mau Mau Uprising and Britain made things harder for Kenya. The Uprising acted out and Britain tried to suppress them.
  • Let talk more about Kenya!
  • Maybe if Britain had controlled the Uprising in a better way it would have helped Kenya more. The way Britain handled it was violent and was hard for everyone. They should have tried to block what they were doing or detained them somehow instead of just turning straight to violence.
  • Luckily, Kenya was able to overcome the rebellion and doesn't deal with that problem today. Though, Kenya still struggles with poverty and disease. So, they're still struggling.
  • Thank you for going home with me and listening to what I had to say!
