Taino People- where they live and how it effected them.

- The Taino people lived in a flourish landscape, decorated with lots of agriculture.
- They lived in Cuba, Jamaica, Haiti, the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands.
- But how did it effect us?
- Having a warm climate with lots of areas for agriculture to grow allowed us to have lots of food! And, we were able to eat fish and other sea creatures because we lived on islands.
- One important part of our culture was how kind we were to our people. We would never fight one another.
- Hi!
- We were also great at making canoes. We would use entire palm trees to make them, and we made them big enough to fit over 100 people!
- We invented the word canoe!
- Well, I hope to see you guys later!
- And now, the Taino housing. Our houses had bamboo, or a different wood material for poles, and a thatched roof. These homes are similar to other native tribes, too.
