- Malala Yousafzai was born on July 12th, 1997. She was born in Mingora Pakistan.
- Malala's family consisted of her parents and her two younger brothers. 
- Malala's father worked as a teacher at one of the very few Pakistan schools that also accepted female students, as he believed anyone had the right of education. This led to many of Malala's future actions and beliefs.
- Throughout her life, Malala did many things to promote female education such as giving multiple speeches.
- In October of 2012, Malala was shot in the left temple after a Pakistan Taliban boarded her bus home from school.  
- In 2013, Malala wrote and published her first book. She continued to write books from then to the present about her past experiences.
