  • P.T. Barnum grows up poor while Charity grows up in a wealthy family. Her parents don't want Charity to be with Barnum. They get together despite this and move to New York City.

  • P.T. Barnum gathers his group of "Freak" and performs their first show. Convincing the others like the small man and the bearded lady to go and entertain. Their show becomes a success bringing in both good and bad attention.
  • Falling ActionFrom Now On
  • The group of "Freaks" go out lead by the bearded lady and the small man. They go out into public after being shutout. They express that they will no longer be afraid of who they are and what people think. They will no longer be shutout by society.
  • ResolutionThe Greatest Show
  • P.T. Barnum goes on tour with Jenny Lind. He starts to ignore his circus work and the people there too while chasing more fame. Jenny Lind falls for Barnum and ends up kissing him after a show. when he gets back from the tour early his circus is on fire during a fight that broke out. Charity also leaves him after finding out about Jenny Lind and him kissing.
  • P.T. Barnum is at a bar after his circus was burned down and Charity left him. The group of "Freaks" come in and convince him to keep going so he find a way to get the circus back up and goes and gets Charity back. This shows a lesson to keep going and that sometimes comfort or fame is an enemy to progress.
  • The circus is now in a tent where they have tons of people showing up. P.T. Barnum in the middle of the show gives Philip Carlyle his hat making him the ringleader and he goes to his daughters ballet show to be with his family. The Circus was represented as a place where people could come out and be themselves without being scared of who they are. It was a symbol of unique people and talents.
