- The first crusade started when Emperor Alexius I asked for help against the Seljuk Turks. Pope Urban II saw this ask as an opportunity to regain the holy land, Jerusalem, from the Muslims. In this fight, Pope Urban II told his people that if they helped fight the war, that their sins would be forgiven upon death. After fighting against the Muslims, the Crusaders came out on top regaining the Holy Land and creating the Crusader Kingdoms
- Emperor Alexius I asked for help in a battle against the Seljuk Turks, and Pope Urban II saw this as an opportunity to take back the holy land , Jerusalem. The two opposing sides fought and the crusaders won taking over the holy land and creating the crusader kingdoms.
- During the second crusade, after the development of the crusader kingdoms, one of the kingdoms fall and that leads to the start of a new crusade. Under the leadership of Saladin, the Muslims took back the holy city of Jerusalem.
- In the third crusade, Saladin who led the Muslims went up against three leaders. German Emperor Fredrick Barbossa, English King Richard the Lionhearted, and French King Phillip II Augustus. In the battle, the German emperor drowned. the French King ran back home, and the English King negotiated an agreement with Saladin to give the Christians free access to Jerusalem
