  • I'm bored, so let me tell you a bit about evolution
  • Didn't think I'd learn somethin about that in here, but sure
  • Through out the centauries we have evolved into different skin colors in order to accommodate to our surroundings. Just like you see in this 5 women
  • I've heard that even though our ancestors used to be covered in hair, the skin underneath it was very pale, so how did we evolve from that one color into so many skin tones ?
  • Since we started developing in the Equatorial Africa our skin was most likely dark, but as we started moving into other regions we weren't able to produce as much vitamin D as we needed
  • So basically natural selection came into action, and we adapted in order for our melanin levels to increase or decrease depending on the UV radiation we were exposed to
  • But what do we even need melanin for ? Like how does the UV radiation affect us anyway ?
  • So, sun light helps the human body producing vitamin D which is used to absorb calcium form food. But to much of it can cause problems. This is why the body uses melanin which not only changes your skin color but also helps protect you cells from any sun damage
  • Yeah... That makes sense
