Ralph and Simon are building huts for the younger children to live in.
Ralph starts to get irritated because none of the other boys will help him except Simon, and the huts begin to fall down before they can be completed.
Instead of helping most of the boys play in the lagoon.
Ralph points out the hunters have failed to catch a single pig so far. Ralph also starts to notice Jack and the hunters use the excuse of hunting to avoid any real work around the island.
As Simon wonders off around the island he happens to find a spot that is surrounded by sunlight, birds, huge space, and butterflies.
