  • The 1st estate considered the clergy was made up of 130,000 (out of 27 million) people and owned about 10 percent of the land.1st estate 
  • 2nd estateThe 2nd estate or considered the nobility was made up 350,000 people and owned 25-30 percent of the land.
  • 3rd estateUnlike the 1st and 2nd estate the 3rd estate was made up vast differences in occupation, level of education, and wealth. The land was made up of 75-80 peasants and owned about 35-40 percent of the land.
  • The National AssemblyKing Louis XVI called a meeting of the Esates-General Versailles. It was called because of the lommming economic crisis in France. There was a lot of Arguing between the esates about voting.
  • The Tennis Court OathOn June 20th showed up to the meeting place and the doors were locked so they went to a near by tennis court. They swore they would continue the meeting until they had a new Constitution. The oath they swore is known as the Tennis Court Oath.
  • The Battle of Bastille King Louis XVI was prepared to use force against the 3rd estate. 900 Parisians gathered in the court yard of the Bastille. The rebels stormed into the fortress and after 4 hours of fighting the warden surrendered. The rebels cut the warden's head off and destroyed the Bastille.
