Bengal was partitioned on 19 July 1905 by Lord Curzon.
Good evening Ladies and Gentlemen, we are glad to announce that Bengal will be partitioned from today. West Bengal for the Hindus and East Bengal for the Muslims.
The British were happy about it, but the Indians weren't. They started the Swadeshi Movement to revolt against the partition.
