- Hey Dad, my game has been really glitchy and I can't fix it. Can you help me out?
- I think I know what the problem is! Have you heard of a botnet attack?
- It's a type of cyber attack.
- No. What is it?
- Even while infected, the device still works as usual for the owner, and its very hard to notice
- A Botnet infects devices, and turns them into "zombie devices"
- This allows someone else to control the infected devices remotely.
- With access to so many devices, the hacker can commit many crimes
- Like, stealing your personal data, or reading and rewriting your device's data.
- That's terrible! How can I stop this from happening, or fix it?
- You can stop it from happening by installing Anti-Virus software, having strong passwords, and being careful about what website you use.
- Since there's a chance your computer has been infected, let's download an anti-botnet software, and update your computer.
