- After the 13 Colonies seperated from the british crown, The Canadiens and Canadians had the thought to become a more democratic society. They wanted Britain to treat them like adults and they wanted to make decisions for themselves.

- Makenzie was a British soldier who bieleved in demcracy. He was the Upper Canada leader in the Push for Democracy.
- I beileve in democracy You guys should be treated the way Britain is treated! The people should have the right to make there own decisions.
- In Lower Canada, they had a leader called Louis Joseph-Papineau.He bieleved that Lower Canada was to become a rebuplican colony. that way they could make there own laws and keep there culture. Him and the people wanted to have the power of the people.
- Assemble with me so we can drive the british away and make our own ways.
- In Upper and Lower Canada the protests havent worked, so they decided they would use force! they waged war and rebels on the Upper Canadian Gov't. This was caused when the rebels brought weapons and started attacking the gov't, this option was used because the British crown didnt listen to there words.
- Bang! Bang! It is here by I declare the new act of union. combineing upper and lower Canada into one.
- In July 1840 British parliment passed the Act of Union. this combined Upper and Lower Canada to become the one Province of Canada. This act was passed due to the Protests and Rebellions. this gave Canada The right to have democratic Governemnt system.
