- Welcome to Illinois
- We've got to!
- Harriet Scott urges him to sue for freedom
- Eliza and Lizze will be separated from us soon. We must sue for our freedom. We can argue that your time in Illinois makes you a freeman!
- Sues his master for his freedom
- I'm suing you for my freedom. You brought me into Illinois, a free state, therefore I cannot be held slave here, and I am free.
- WHAT?!

- The court hears arguments on both sides
- No man can be held slave on free soil. My inherent presence in Illinois freed me. Once free always free.
- He is my slave, the fact we were in Illinois doesn't change that.

- After deliberating, this court has come to the decision that under the framing of the constitution, no black person is permitted to sue in the United States of America.

- Today, we will learn about one of the most infamous court cases in history. It is known as the Dred Scott Case.
