  • Why are you treating Joe so badly?
  • Pip is raised by his sister and her significant other, Joe, a blacksmith. Mrs. Joe is viewed as an antagonist, continually pushing Pip and making him remind that she brought him up. On the other hand, Joe is Pip's closest companion.
  • CLIMAX
  • Joe's uncle arrives one day and tell that he has a great oppurtunity to be rich if he go on a play date. At Miss Havisham's place Pip plays with her daughter Estella. After spending some time with her Pip eventually develop feelings for her, in spite of her contemptuous disposition. Pip begins to lie to Joe and his wife about what hedoes at Miss Havisham’s. Pip changes as he struggles to become educated andless ‘common’, for Estella.
  • FALLING ACTION
  • OH NO! Someone Please Save Me!
  • Years have passed, Pip has become an apprentice toJoe, and is no longer visiting the Havisham’s. One day a man came to Pipand tell him that he has been named a large inheritance and will move to Londonat Once. In London, Pip must be tutored to become a gentleman. Suspiciously, heis being tutored by a nephew of Miss Havisham. He also ends up rooming withHerbert, the son of his tutor. These coincidences lead Pip to believe that MissHavisham is trying to arrange for him to be with Estella. During histime in London, Pip is rebutted by Estella, treats Joe as a peasant, andbecomes a hostile person, driven by greed and desire.
  • RESOLUTION
  • One day a man who tell Pipabout the inheritance came to Pip and confront that the money Pip received wassome criminal’s money. Pip goes to Satis House to confront Miss. Havisham. Heis angry believing she has led him on for years about being with Estella who herecently found out is to marry another man. Once there, Estella gets in a fightwith Miss Havisham, and the truth about her manipulation is revealed. Both Herbert and Pip are live beyond their means. Pip devisesa plan, but needs a sizable amount of money. Despite his last encounter withMiss Havisham, he goes to her to save his friend from bankruptcy. He bargainsforgiveness for help. As leaves, her dress catches fire. Pip attempts to put itout, leaving both of them badly injured.
  • FORGIVE ME, AND SAVE ME, PLEASE!
  • Pip tries to help Abel escape London when they realize theyare being followed by one of Abel’s old enemies. While fleeing on the river, afight ensues, and Abel is fatally wounded. On Abel’s death bed, Pip has anepiphany. He lies to Abel so the man can die happy. After Abel's death, Pip goes into a downward spiral. He is in over hishead with debt. His years of living beyond his means have caught up with him,and he has a breakdown when he is thrown into debtor’s prison.
  • Pip is in debt and falls ill, when he gets up he found out that Joe has paid off all his debts. Herbert gives him a job. In very last scene, Pip returns to Satis House after Miss Havisham's death, and he encounters Estella. Together they walk of holding hands.
