  • Ohio River Valley Pt. 1
  • Early on, The Ohio river valley was a piece of disputed land between the French and British bordering Philadelphia, Louisiana, and Florida. The French later made friends with the Alogonquian. However, this was not desireable for the Iroquois Nation.
  • The Iroquois Nation was a confederacy made up of multiple tribes of Native Americans
  • Ohio River Valley Pt. 2
  • During this time, George Washington was a 22 Year old colonel in charge of 120 men of the Virginia militia. He was sent there to protect an English fort being built on the Ohio river valley. At the same time, The French were simultaneously building fort Duquesne. Meanwhile, in order to force out the French, he had Fort Necessities built.
  • The Albany Conference Pt. 1
  • The Albany conference occurred when colonial delegates met with Iroquois leaders in Albany, the capital of New York. They wanted defense against the intrusion of their territory. The conference issued the Albany Plan of Union, which proposed that the colonies form a federal government. This was created by a committee under the leadership of Benjamin Franklin, a community leader from Philadelphia.
  • The Albany Conference Pt. 2
  • Join or Die was the first published political cartoon which was used to convince the colonies to support the Albany Plan of Union. All the colonial assemblies rejected the plan.
  • Later on, The successful ambush of the British emboldened the Lenni-Lenape, the Indigenous people inhabiting Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, and Delaware to attack British settlers in Western Pennsylvania. Soon, England would declare war on france leading to the Seven Years War
  • Braddock's Protégé
  • General Edward Braddock was an English General during the French and Indian War as commander of the British forces in North America. He selected George Washington to be his aide in the colonies. Braddock was killed by the French and their Indigenous allies. Washington held off the forces until they could retreat.
  • End of The War
  • William Pitt was the Secretary of State and leader of the British House of Commons. Pitt planned to seize the French colonies in North America instead of fighting them in Europe.
  • The Treaty of Paris 1763 officially ended the French and Indian War signed in February of 1763. The British Navy now ruled the seas, their army controlled Europe and North America, and their military power outmatched both France and Spain.
