- He was born in Plancy (France) on June 23, 1817. He was an only child, with a solid Christian education, precursor of the great mission to which God destined him. At his short 5 years he appeared in the factory of his town to exhort the workers to attend the Mission that was given in the Parish, to which they, impressed by his word, attended. At age 11 he received his First Communion
- On December 19, 1840, he was ordained as a priest and soon after was appointed Chaplain of the Visitation of Troyes, performing these functions efficiently for more than forty years.
- It is in the same year of 1858 when he started the first social works in France: The Workers' Works, for which he had the support of Mother Chappuis. The administration was initially entrusted to other people, but because that was not the right direction, problems arose, so it is necessary to have women who really give themselves to the project with all their love, and this would be achieved through the foundation of a religious congregation in the spirit of Saint Francis de Sales,

- The religious persecution in France (1903 1904) is one of the hardest tests that religious congregations must pass. - On February 2, 1908 he passed away, however his charisma, teachings and example survive with thriving vitality.His instructions, conferences and daily colloquiums, piously collected by his spiritual daughters and sons, constitute the treasure of the Congregation and form its code imbued with the Doctrine of the Savior.
