  • - Durkheim studied at the Lycee Louis Ie Grand and the College d'Epinal.- Durkheim wrote multiple books, his most known book is 'Suicide'.- Durkheim conducted his own theory in the Functionalism Theory, he believed that society exerted a powerful force on individuals. A system of thinking based on the ideas of Emile Durkheim that looks at society from a large scale perspective.- Durkheim major contributions were to help define and establish the field of sociology as an academic discipline. He distinguished sociology from psychology, philosophy, economics, and other social science disciplines by arguing that society was an entity of its own.
