- Should I seek revenge?
- I chose the word "declamatory" for the style because, in this scene, where Shown got shot, Jason Reynolds is showing the character's feelings of freight and horrific anger using bold pictures and with great force.
- I chose the word "apprehensive" for the tone because Jason Reynolds word choice throughout the novel is strong and he shows that Will is fearful that something bad may happen.
- The theme is that revenge may not always be the best choice. Will wants to seek revenge for Riggs (Shawn's killer). When he gets in the elevator he has to decide whether or not he should seek revenge even if it may cost his life.
- I refuse to give up my seat!
- Black people cant be on this bus!
- I chose the word "insulted" for tone because, throughout Correta's book, she explains why it is not right to segregate black and white people. I chose the word "roundly" for the style because Coretta Scott King is expressing her strong opinion in a clear way.
- The theme is that every human being should have equal rights no matter their skin color, religion, ethnicity, etc. Correta Scott King wanted equality and change. 381 days later, the buses were allowing all people to ride it.
