- 嘿小男孩，你知道怎麼去唐人街嗎？
- what do I say i don't understand what she is saying
- one day I was taking the subway home minding my own business
- 哦，好的，嗯
- Im sorry I cant understand what you are saying i don't understand Chinese.
- When an old lady approached me asking for directions in Chinese. But i couldn't understand nor speak Chinese (mandarin) even though i'm Chinese.
- 我坐什麼火車去 Chinatown
- ohh okay, I can bring you there.
- I was trynna comprehend to what she was saying with comparing certain words that she said that sounded familiar to the other Chinese dialect i spoke
- I was just straight up to her that I didn't understand Chinese. Which was kind of embarrassing that I couldn't speak Chinese even though i am Chinese, and not be able to help her get to her destination
- embarrassed but i finally knew where she wanted to go and when I heard Chinatown I just finally brought her there and went home after. Me not being able to understand or speak Chinese even though i am Chinese and being able to speak Spanish more fluently made me realize, that Im not as Chinese enough being able to understand another language more than your main first language.
