  • the boys climbed the mountain

  • jack, Simon and piggy climbed the mountain to find a good spot to build a fire and found flowers and food to eat .
  • "My father's in the navy. He says there aren't any unknown islands left...sooner or later we shall be rescued."
  • The littlun with the birthmark is afraid and worried about the "snake thing" that's in the jungle and asks Ralph and Jack what they're going to do about it.

  • ralph and piggy had already met jack and the choir boys and they were talking about using the conch to take turns speaking.

  • Ralph is telling the boys that his dad is in the navy and he believes that sooner or later his dad will send some ships to rescue them from the island.
  • The boys decide that Ralphs idea of making a fire at the top of the mountain for people to find them was a good idea so they do it with piggy's glasses.Jack takes piggy's glasses and breaks them.
  • the boys in charge of the fire don't watch it and take care of it and eventually the fire spreads to the rest of the island
