  • I'm nurse Lisa! Let's go inside. We will conduct assessment (cardiac arrythmias) and perform some diagnostic test (EKG/ECG).
  • The chest pain that I'm feeling is excruciating. It's like an elephant sitiing on my chest.
  • Upon assessment, you have a family history of heart diseases which can be a predisposing factor that may cause Myocardial Infarction.
  • Can you please elaborate it nurse Lisa? I'm anxious and I don't know what actions or things that I need to do in order for me to prevent from deeveloping it.
  • I understand what you're feeling, Mr. Canlas. What you are experiencing right now is a clinical manifestation of Myocardial Infarction and this pain may radiate to the left arm, jaw, neck , or shoulder blades.
  • What are the risk factors and do you have a goal of care for this nurse Lisa?
  • High bood pressure also known as hypertension is one the risk factor also smoking, high cholesterol levels, and family history. It can be prevented by refraining from smoking and maintaining appropriate BP. My goal focuses in controlling the pain in your chest and reduced your anxiety.
  • Is there any cure for this or something that we can do to prevent it?
  • It is preventable and treatable with the right care. I suggest that you reduce your alcohol consumption, eat healthy, and quit from smoking. With your cooperation it is more likely possible that it will not develop once you change your lifestyle or habits in ADL.
  • That's all, nurse Lisa! Thank you for your time and for the care you have given me.
  • How can you manage Myocardial Infarction nurse Lisa?
  • With that, I guess you already understand your situation. Do you still have a question?
  • As a nurse, there are some interventions that we can do for you, Mr. Canlas. We will administer a medication like nitro-glycerin to treat chest pain and I also encourgae you to have a bed rest elevated to help decrease chest discomfort and dyspnea.
