- The Environmental Theory consists of 5 key components: 1. Pure air 2. Clean water3. Effective Drainage4. Light 5. Cleanliness All of these components are essential to ensure that patients who receive care are in the best condition to heal. One cannot heal adequately if they are placed in an unsanitary environment.
