  • In 1215 King John of England was subject to the law, just like the other citizens. It was guaranteed the rights of individuals, the right to justice, and the right to a fair trial.
  • The Stamp Act

  • Colonial America was formed between 1607 and 1733. The British Colonies were ruling and the king then gave them permission to settle one one by one.
  • The Townshend Act
  • When King George The 3rd was crowned in 1760 he applied many rules that eliminated the power of the Colonies!
  • The Declaration of Independence
  • In 1765 Great Britain raised Revenue by taxing the Colonists with every piece of paper they used.
  • In 1767 the Townshend Act occurred. The British taxed imports which were lead, paper, glass, and paint. The Colonists could then not get these imports and they were taxed without their consent.
  • The Declaration of Independence was made so the Colonists had rights to Revolution. In 1776 56 people got formed into Colonies unenforceabley signing it.
  • We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal; that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these rights are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness. That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed.
