- In this scene the socs were showing up and calling Johnny and Ponyboy mean things. The Socs had some switchblades, and they had some rings that were on their hands. They were the same people that had beat up Johnny in the lot. When they beat him up in the lot Johnny almost died. The socs were pulling up in their mustang and they were saying really mean things to them. In the story the socs said,"Even if you are mad at us, that's no reason to be walking in the streets with these bums"(45). That was when the socs were talking bad about the greasers and pulling up in their mustang.
- In this scene Bob was drowning Ponyboy and Johnny stabbed Bob. When Johnny stabbed Bob he died, and the rest of the socs ran away. Johnny was trying to protect Ponyboy, and he didn't want him to get hurt. Bob was the guy that beat up Johnny in the lot, and Johnny knew that they were going to do what they did to him last time. In this scene Ponyboy said,"'I'm dying, I thought, and wondered what was happening to Johnny. I couldn't hold my breath any longer'"(56). Ponyboy was drowning and he thought that he was going to die, so Johnny ended up stabbing Bob.
- In this scene Bob was lying on the ground and he was dead. Johnny and Ponyboy were sitting there and freaking out. They knew he was dead, and Johnny knew that if someone found him that he would be killed. Johnny was super scared, and Ponyboy was freaking out and crying. In the story it said,"He was a strange greenish-white, and his eyes were huger than I'd ever seen them.'I killed him,'he said slowly.'I killed that boy'"(56). Johnny knew that he was going to be in huge trouble and they had to think of a plan to do.
